Faults:

Had to get exhaust custom bent but orange peelers were a nice enhancement.

Transmission coolant line rubbed against frame and caused leakage which overheated and blew transmission.

Air Conditioning was shot before I got it.

Rear differential made loud humming sound like a dump truck.

General Comments:

This vehical was a tank. I mean I could literally mount a 50mm gun to the roof of this baby and take out 1000 Saddam loyalist a day. So roomy you could stretch legs all the way out and would not touch front floorboard. I drove the heck out of this car and gave it a proper burial when it finally left me. The next day I went and bought a New 1988 Pontiac Grand Am. That's how impressed I was with Pontiac. Big Trade off with power going to a 4 cylinder, but I expected that obviously. I really miss that car!!!

Faults:

Radiator.

Tires.

Battery.

Heater core.

The usual things any vehicle thirty and over would need eventually.

General Comments:

For a four door Catalina, she moves pretty quickly.

The interior is just the right size for any big person.

The bench seats are like sitting on your living room couch, soft, yet supportive.

And everything is within easy reach of both driver and passenger.

Faults:

My air compressor blew at 78,000 miles.

I had to replace the radiator.

Having trouble with water pressure.

Break booster went out at about 77,000 miles.

General Comments:

This car is a very good and dependable car.

However you have to keep the fluids topped off for best results.

Faults:

My engine gave out on me just under 300,000 miles.

The top of the back seat has started to wear down over the years from sun and water.

The vinyl top had to be replaced a third time. Due to time weather and age.

I had the transmission rebuild right after 200,000 miles.

General Comments:

I love this car it handles like a dream and has never let me down.

I will always cherish this car.

When I was in High School people with ther fancy new cars would always try to race. Then get all upset when I would leave them in the dust.

The cabin is very roomy and the seats are like big comfertable couches.

Faults:

Carburetor is sticking, creating a little smoke when you first start the car.

Radiator busted when I first got the car. I replaced it and it is doing fine now.

Air-condition works, but seems to only blow from the floor and not the vents.

I have had to replace numerous vacuum hoses on the vehicle due to corrosion.

General Comments:

This has been a very dependable car for me.

This vehical is not that bad on gas mileage for a full size car.

Faults:

The original alternator was in the car, and the bushings dried out and wore away on a 1,300 mile round trip to a car show. this happened at 48,000 miles in 2000.

The original radiator rusted out. The tanks were paper thin. I replaced it in 1999.

General Comments:

Other than the rad and the alternator there has not been anything that broke on the car.

This is a very low miles car which sat in storage from 1973 until 1987. When parts don`t get used, they wear out faster when they finally do get used.

I can cruise all day at 75 mph and it doesn't matter to the car. I get about 19 miles per gallon on the highway too.
