1987 Pontiac Firebird 5.0 4bbl
Summary:
It gets the ladies
Faults:
One coolant pipe ruptured around 88,000 miles; it was replaced for a fifty cents.
Cloth seats on the driver's side are starting to rip.
Both front seat belts both broke the day after I purchased the car, but they were replaced.
Both lower-end tie-rods had to be replaced at 99,000 due to age.
General Comments:
This car is such a gas guzzler. I can't keep a full tank of gas for more than 4 days. It's horrible.
But this car generally gets up and goes. It's awesome, even for a small block V8.
This car is in perfect condition with no dings, dents, scratches or any rust at all!
It's hard to start sometimes though, because it has a carburetor, but generally it's not problematic.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I bought a new 1987 Fire bird in April of 87, a beautiful red with grey interior. I absolutely loved driving it, the best handling car I have ever driven.
Had a lot of mechanical problems with it, the power steering unit went out once, and the belt on the motor broke many times until it was recalled and fixed. Also had to put 2 transmissions in it. I guess everyone would say it was a bad experience, yes, but I still loved the car, it was the sportiest, fastest take off, and drove like a dream, I still miss it, it was my dream car. Connie.
