Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have to agree. I just went to change the left tail turn signal lamp on my 2007 Pursuit. Well, after almost breaking my hand and putting a small dent inside to out, I got the SOB to come out. Do these guys sit around all day trying to figure out ways to screw the consumer? I remember the days you could replace a lamp in 5 minutes. Not an hour and 5 minutes, and a broken hand, and a dent in the car from a slipped wrench. No wonder GM is broke. I have bought GM since the 80's. No more. To hell with them. Maybe they should build a car people can work on again, without special tools and a hand the size of a 7 year old's hand.

You think this is bad? Try owning a Kia, and don't tell me foreign is any better. But no, burnt out bulbs and a recall doesn't hardly sound like a huge list of issues. Bulbs are wear and tear items like brakes. When people leave their comments saying brakes went out at 10,000 miles, all that does is show me exactly what kind of driver you are.

As for this car, I'm thinking about owning one, and after the reviews I have read, it seems to be a really good car.

I have had a 2005 Pontiac Pursuit for a year and not any problems... Very good gas mileage. Winter time I never plug it in, and every time it would be -32 and it starts right up. A very good car.

2006 Pontiac G5 Pursuit GT 2.4

Summary:

Worst car ever!

Faults:

First week of having the car, the radio stopped working and the windshield wiper motor died in the middle of a thunderstorm on the highway. Car was gone to the dealer for 2 weeks!!!

Brakes and pads had to be replaced within the 1st year of ownership.

Wire from the subwoofer shorted the car out multiple times on the highway; wire was rubbing on quarter panel.

Rotors machined, then replaced as they weren't fixed.

Drivers side door latch broke, not covered by extended warranty, cost $450 just to get my door to open.

Radio would stay on while the car was off.

Unexplained noises/thumps from front end - dealer told me several times when questioned, it was "tire/road noise".. ya right..

Rear windshield defrosters didn't work, took to dealer to be fixed, they used the wrong sauter, wasn't fixed. Took it back, fixed it, used for the first time, when the car was turned off, cold air hit the hot windshield (they obviously didn't turn off after high temp reached), shattered my rear windshield - had to be completely replaced.

Shifter knob stuck in place, couldn't remove keys from ignition.

General Comments:

This car is complete garbage. It sells for high, yet resales for next to nothing. Complete waste of money. Had nothing but problems with it. Missed a lot of time of work and lost money for having to take it into the shop all the time.

I've only had this car for 2 years, and those are all the problems I've had. I still owe 2 years of financing this car. I'm losing over $5000 to trade this car and get something, doubling what I bought this for, but at this point, I don't even care, I just want rid of the damn thing. I'm sick of worrying about what's going to go wrong next.

Visually appealing, but that's all they are. I hate this car!!

Dee.

Wow, it sounds like you got a lemon. I have the same car and really enjoy it. I have to sell it and am sad to see it go. It is fun to drive and a good zippy car on the highway.

Sorry to hear that you have had so much trouble with your car.

I honestly think you should have bought another Mazda.

The radio would stay on while the car was off.

For how long did the radio stay on? Most new cars will still have power to most things for about 30-45 seconds after the key is turned off, but not removed from the ignition. My 98 Grand Cherokee does it.

I had the same problem with the keys stuck in the ignition, but the dealer replaced the shifter at no charge.

The radio stays on for 10 minutes after the car is turned off and the keys are out of the ignition, or until the driver's door is opened.

Other than those, I have had no problems with the car. Obviously I have had to replace my brake pads and routers, but that is to be expected in almost any car after 100,000km.

Many cars and SUVs have this radio setup, whereby the radio will stay on for about ten minutes or until the driver's door is opened, so you can continue to listen without having to have the key in. This is NOT a flaw or a defect. My old Catera had it, and so does my new GMC SUV.
