Faults:

I just bought this car knowing it needed a heater core, i noticed in many other adds that it is a common problem, and I have heard from a few people saying it is a pain to replace, but I'm not shure. I would like to know the procedure in installing a new heater core or if it is a difficult project.

General Comments:

Very powerful 3.3L v6.

Comfortable, and roomy.

Very good shape.

90,000 miles.

Faults:

At about 48,000 mikes the head blew. Other than that nothing, but the normal wear and tear. G.M. did fix the head even though it was out of warranty.

General Comments:

Great running car, Runs now as good as the day I bought it.

Faults:

I got the car in 2005, from a previous owner. I test drove it and it ran great. Then I gave it to my son to drive and he tortured it.

A few months ago while I was driving, some smoke came out of the hood. It turned out to be the power steering oil leaking.

I found a hole in the rusty power steering hose, so I replaced it.

Now the oil is leaking every time I drive it. I think it is the actual power steering pump itself.

I would be grateful for any suggestions to my problem.

General Comments:

It a very good looking vehicle. I am thinking of lowering the suspension and putting a spoiler to give it a more sporty look.

It's a little dry, potholes feel like earthquakes.

Faults:

TCC Solenoid at around 80,000.

All heater core and radiator hoses replaced at 140,000.

Alternator at around 100,000.

Oil Pressure Sending Unit around 120,000.

General Comments:

I love my car, she has never left me stranded. The 3300 V6 is strong and has good power in all the right places. The three speed tranny doesn't do the engine justice.

Changed oil every 3000, changed the tranny fluid every 40-50k. Still has the original water pump and transmission at 150,000!!! A terrific car that I would recommend to anyone!!!

Faults:

Not much. Other than the parts that normally wear out (tires, wiper blades, brake shoes, mufflers, belts, etc.), I have had to have very little work done on the car. I recently replaced the fuel pump, but only because I routinely ran the gas tank almost dry, to see how many miles I could get per tankful of gas.

General Comments:

The car has been very reliable and gets surprisingly good gas mileage. I've kept a gas mileage log since I bought the car. Over the first 200,000 miles, I have averaged about 35 mpg. I get nearly 40 mpg on long summer highway trips, and if I get below 30 mpg, even in the winter, I think something must be wrong. The mileage for 2005 is just as good as the mileage for 1993, no change over the years. I can't understand why an off-the-lot, run-of-the-mill 1993 car can get better gas mileage than almost any car marketed today, except for the hybrids.
