1997 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.1 V6
Summary:
A cheap reliable vehicle as long as it's cared for
Faults:
The alternator went at 40,000 miles.
Both front power window motors have failed.
The camshaft sensor went bad at 120,000 miles.
The heater core cracked at 126,000 miles.
Through the years, the spoiler has faded and peeled, but the rest of the paint is in good condition.
General Comments:
This vehicle has been very reliable through the years.
It has the original battery from 97 and has always started right up.
The radio had the common volume knob problem since I upgraded my entire system; the Delco wasn't cutting it.
My mother bought the vehicle in 1997 brand new, and it's been a solid mode of transportation ever since.
The antiquated low tech V6 doesn't have much power, but it is smooth and moves the heavy Grand Am easily.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Wait a couple months, you will start getting problems with your car. My car's in the shop now cause the block's cracked.
The windows are always dying and it always gets water in the damn thing
