2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2.4L
Summary:
I enjoy driving this vehicle, since it is a major upgrade from my previous car
Faults:
Fuel pump at 80K miles, driver's window regulator at 80K miles, fuel pump again at 99K miles, passlock security system at 99K miles, passenger window regulator at 99K miles.
Since acquiring the vehicle from my daughter, I have spent a considerable amount of time chasing electrical gremlins, ranging from inoperable windows and door locks to courtesy lights which would not turn off. Most recent trip to dealer totaled over $1000 dollars (fuel pump / passlock sensor) and didn't correct the major issues.
All of these problems were corrected upon finding and removing moisture and corrosion from the circuit board in the BCM. This unit is not well sealed, and appears to be the controlling factor to most electrical components of the vehicle interior. Clean dry connections and I have had none of the originally mentioned issues. Everything works just as the factory intended.
General Comments:
Extremely comfortable car to drive. Runs well and gets respectable gas mileage.
