Great car
Oil leak, bad radiator, bad transmision, water pump went bad. All this stuff was wrong with the car when I bought it.
I love this car. It is cute and sporty. Very reliable, and it gets me where I need to go even in bad weather. It handles nicely.

Best of both worlds
I replaced the dim headlights when I first bought it.
I replaced the battery a few months after I bought it.
I replaced the alternator at about 87,000 miles.
I replaced the power steering valve because of a leak.
I replaced the brakes at 88,000 miles (however, I tend to be hard on brakes!).
This car handles like a dream. In my opinion, it's the smoothest ride next to a Cadillac. :)
As a result of having this car, I will never own a rear-wheel drive. My front-wheel drive and the car's awesome traction has gotten me through tough weather situations while everyone else's Mustangs were spinning like mad.
Also, as a result of having this car, I will never own a compact car. I have learned to appreciate the roominess and comfort of my car.
This car can reach some serious speed in minimal time.
In my opinion, this car is the best of both worlds: the luxury, comfort, and safety of a family car, and the performance, speed, and handling of a sports car.
Sure, there may have been a few tribulations, but she's my first car and I love her. :)

Wider is better
Blew the transmission cooler line to the radiator which left me stranded.
The brakes rusted to the point to where they needed replacing. That included all 4 rotors and 2 rear calipers.
The car looks and handles great.
It has been easy to find after-market parts to enhance the performance of the car.

A solid reliable vehicle
Rear brakes wear out abnormally fast.
Replaced the alternator 2 times.
Battery replaced once.
Break in the power pump line.
Considering the amount of driving I have put on this vehicle and the many years of reliable service this car has given me, I can honestly say this has been one of the best vehicles I have ever owned.
The 3.1 litre engine, while not a power house, provides plenty of juice on the highway.
Ride is comfortable and smooth, a great car for long drives.
My next vehicle is going to be the latest Grand Prix model.

I agree with everything this reviewer said. I would like to add that my own '93 Grand Prix LE, while a wonderfully reliable vehicle, has had similar problems. I am on my third alternator. I replace front brakes every year and rear brakes every two years. Of the two mufflers, one is replaced annually (so each muffler is good for two years, LOL). As I type this, my wonderfully compassionate (and inexpensive) mechanic is installing a rebuilt transmission in my car. It also failed emissions because it tends to run rich. The left rear door handle is broken (another problem of which I hear frequently). The wiring harness in the steering column SHOULD have been recalled, as it is known to fray and burn out; mine did (and is also being repaired this week).
Don't let this scare you away from this car; it is a great car, very roomy; and it IS reliable. It looks great too!! Side note; don't try to go cheap on tires, if you have the 16" wheel base, you'll find yourself replacing tires every year. Pay a bit more for the BF Goodrich or the Michelin tires; my BF Goodrich tires have been on the car two years now and have almost NO wear. In comparison; the cheapo tires I bought from Pep Boys (at not much less than what the BF Goodrich cost) lasted just over one year before having to be replaced.

I had a 1994 Grand Prix SE, bought it new. They replaced the valve covers with ones made of aluminum, not plastic to fix an oil leak. Other than a power window motor and routine maintenance, this car went 70,000 miles without a problem. I sold it then, so it probably went more. Loved it. The 3.1 engine was peppy, but once you go to a GT you will never go back. I actually think it is better on gas.
