1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.4L

Summary:

A very comfortable and sporty ride

Faults:

Alternator went out at 60,000 miles

Transmission went out at 105,000 miles

Rear wheel hub went at 100,000.

General Comments:

This car is a joy to drive, which is good, otherwise, given the cost of repairs, I would have sold it long ago.

It is very responsive and corners very well.

The interior is very luxurious and extremely comfortable. I have the power leather seats, and they are the most comfortable I have ever sat in, more comfortable than my lazy boy at home, very soft and cushy, yet supportive as well.

We always take this car on long trips, if possible because it is so comfy and enjoyable to drive.

Even though it has been relatively unreliable, I would recommend it to a friend due to it's sportiness and comfort.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1L

Summary:

A cheap sporty car

Faults:

Muffler rattled when I first bought the car; loose clamp.

Mufflers were rusted at 83,000 miles when I bought the car. Luckily, all this was replaced at no charge by the dealer.

At 83,500 the brakes began to pulsate, dealer replaced the rotors, brake pads and shoes, under warranty.

The computer that reads the chip on the key (so no one can use a false key to start your car) shorted out at 92,000 miles, and therefore my engine wouldn't start. It was a 300 dollar job; this feature is more of a pain if anything.

General Comments:

This car is a sharp smooth riding machine. After the dealer replaced the parts, I have had no trouble (except for the computer).

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1L V6

Summary:

An inexpensive sports car

Faults:

My left muffler has a hole in it.

Both mufflers have rust on them.

The passenger side door handle is broken.

The front bottom bumper has been hit into parking blocks too often causing them to crack.

General Comments:

This car has very quick acceleration, enough to impress the guys.

I have received many great compliments about the cars exterior condition and looks.

I have been repeatedly been questioned about my financial income (I am only sixteen).

Excellent first car for anyone.

My 1995 Grand Prix 2dr is a great car, the gas mileage on it is about 23mpg and it's a very snappy car. my only complants are the door handles which stick and heater knobs which seem to fall off. also my trunk for some reason leaks and moisture and water build up in the area where the spare tire is.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 V6

Summary:

Good performance, but it high maintance

Faults:

- Around 65000, transmission started to slip.

- Around 67000, the evaporator went.

- Around 77000, rear passenger shock/strut broke.

- Radio could never pick up stations well

- The car ran hot (about 210 to 220) from the beginning and it burned about a quart of oil every 3,000 miles

- Lost coolant, this got progressively worst.

General Comments:

- Very poor stopping power and it ate pads and rotors.

- All problems listed above could be fixed under warranty, but the dealer was the worst. When they fixed something, two days later it broke again and something else broke too.

- Although it had many annoying problems it still handled well for a FWD vehicle and it got wicked gas mileage on the highway (approx. 32mph)

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix Special Edition 3.1 V6

Summary:

Lowest end of luxury sports car

Faults:

Replaced the rear brakes three times since I have owned it. Replaced the rotors once. DO NOT buy anything, but factory parts for this car or you will be sorry.

Replaced torque converter.

Compact disk player won't work.

Bottom of bumper cover sits too low. It cracked from hitting cement stoppers in parking lots too many times.

General Comments:

Not much pick up, especially up hill.

Sharp-looking car when cleaned and waxed.

Corners nice.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 4.7L Superchip

Summary:

This car can hang with the big dawgs!!

Faults:

First my Struts went out $750 to fix. Then I lost my alternator my battery and starter. Also replaced plugs and wiring to bring the total to about $900.

Just recently I was on my way to see the Minnesota Twins battle the Cleveland indians when my timing belt snapped. Seven hundred to eight hundred dollars can easily be expected to come form this.

General Comments:

This car is definitely a head turner.

It has power to race a lot of V8's.

Very roomy for me being six three.

Seats are very comfy for long trips.

You get what you pay for just watch out for the repair bills.

How does your car have a 4.7 l engine in it? I have a 1995 gtp and I have a 3.4 24 valve v-6. Did you have another engine dropped in?
