1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.4L

Summary:

Got my money worth and enjoy driving it

Faults:

35,000 miles -Heater core, 98,785 highh pressure power steering line failure, 98,785 water pump failure; replaced timing belt at 98,785 miles.

Paint starting to fade on body molding.

Right now; I recently blew a high pressure variable speed power steering line. I had the dealer remove and replace the line and ever since then, the power steering has been making a wining noise when turning the steering wheel. I and the dealer each have replaced the power steering pump without any success in getting rid of the noise. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what is going on?

General Comments:

Fun car to drive that still has quick acceleration and good performance characteristics. Interior is still in good shape with some fading on top portion of door panels. Overall, very happy with this car.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 Litre V6

Summary:

Great car!!

Faults:

I have owned my Grand Prix since new.

Replaced the brakes twice

Replaced the alternator twice - most recently approximately 2 months ago

Gas tank was replaced this year

Knob on dash for heat replaced.

General Comments:

My Grand Prix has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. It always starts, especially in the cold winters without a block heater.

It provides me great gas mileage.

It is fun to drive. the 3.1L V6 engine is quick enough for me and it drives smooth on the highway.

There is no exterior rust on the car. There is a very small amount of rust around the hood locking mechanism.

The seats could do with a little more padding.

Overall this is a great car. I have enjoyed it immensely. I even bought another Grand Prix (2002).

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 V6

Summary:

It is a good value sports car and has been fun to own

Faults:

Similar problems that others have experienced.

Center console broke at hinge.

Intake and head gaskets blew at the same time costing around 500 dollars (luckily I had a mechanic who found and fixed both at the same time).

2 knobs for temperature control have broken.

Runs through brakes every 6 months or so.

A $30 headlight blows on me every 6 months as well.

At around 115,000 miles the driver seat broke and needed to be welded. Not all power seat controls work after that operation.

Screws in the door that hold down power windows and locks are stripped and the plate is loose, but buttons work.

General Comments:

Even taking these mostly cosmetic problems into account, I have been happy with the reliability of this car. Over 3 years the worst thing I have had to do were the intake and manifold gaskets ($500). Everything else has been mostly maintenance.

The engine is solid and more than peppy, bordering on downright quick. Transmission is solid over my 40,000 miles on it. The suspension is great and the car handles well in turns, doing things you wouldn't think a ten year old car could do.

When you drive it, you're in a cockpit and everything is easy to reach and control. The car itself is very responsive.

I have no doubt the engine will last until 200,000... the rest, I'm not so sure ;)

It's been great to own. I have liked it a great deal. It looks sharp and has been quite reliable. I've never been stranded with it.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.4L

Summary:

The very best I`ve ever owned!!!

Faults:

I bought the car needing the intake gasket replaced this is a normal thing for these cars around 75,000 miles I also replaced the timing belt due to the mileage (recommended) after that it's pure pleasure to own and drive. She has all the power you could ask for is totally reliable, and truly a comfortable car also wouldn't trade it for the world.

General Comments:

This car is quick handles fantastic, is great in ice and snow, comfortable to sit in and attractive to look at. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a toy that gets around 22 mpg and is fun to drive, reliable, and is easy on the eyes.
