2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8 V6
Summary:
Practical 4 dor sedan, with a beast under the hood
Faults:
Stock stereo cannot be replaced currently because of the way it's wired into all the other electronics.
Rear driver side seat "crackles" when pushed, dealer said paper was left under THE leather when it was installed.
General Comments:
I have been wanting this car for 4 years and am extremely happy.
The extra horsepower in the GTP is well worth the few extra grand for it, if you don't mind putting in Premium Gas.
Mine came from the dealer with Sunroof, Bose Speaker upgrade, AND 5 spoke upgraded wheels.
Going from a Honda Civic to this beast is awesome, the getup from a stop is incredible. Great passing power also.
Handles incredibly well.
Bose speaker upgrade is a MUST. Especially since replacing the stock deck is giving me such a headache. Speaker upgrade includes a power-amp also.
If you are a left handed driver and tend to lean over the center console while driving, the HUD is kind of hard to see. There are adjustments for Up and Down on it, but no left to right.
The leather seats look very sharp. Seats are very comfortable, plenty of room for me (6'3" 220lbs).
All in all, I couldn't be happier (with the exception of the stereo).
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

The stock radio can be replaced in your Grand Prix. A special wire harness is available from Metra Electronics that will allow you to leave the factory radio data lineplugged in. You will have to move the radio to the trunk. I think Crutchfield can sell you this harness also. Any GOOD car stereo shop can install ANY aftermarket radio or amp or even subs in this car. In fact they can even tie in the factory steering wheel controls to your new radio if you have them. It's not that big of a deal! Have you figured out yet that I'm a car stereo installer? Nineteen years in the business and the car companies still have not been able to lock us out of the dashboard! By the way I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT and I LOVE it!

I am very pleased with my 2001 grand prix gtp supercharged vehicle, however I have just discovered a problem with the sunroof getting clogged and I have been told it is a common happening with this year and type of vehicle. The dealer unclogs the lines for me, however I can't count on them to do this every time there is a strong down pour of rain. I think this will become a BIG pain in the you know where.
