Faults:

The car was ditched in winter & pulled out backwards via the lateral links. Needless to say passenger's rear links were bent & broken. Got a hold of my son who looked up on the Internet & told me only approx. 3000 were made & to haul ass & get it. Met the owner & pulled out 4 one hundred dollar bills which he grabbed. Spent $740 on it & did the labour myself. Drove it for 2.5 years with no problems. It is now parked & will get a complete restoration as I`m now retired. I think I damn stole this beauty, & will have a real winner when done. You can rest assured this car will only come out for show & shines, & my son will end up with her when I`m done with it.

General Comments:

Head turner, fast, great mileage (35 MPG Imperial).

Rides like a dream & quite pretty. Dark cherry paint, leather interior with 40th anniversary embossed on the seats. Supercharged don`t hurt either.

Faults:

I ordered this car and drove all 350000 km myself; it is still my second car.

I have it serviced every 7000 to 10000 km.

Have used synthetic oil since it rolled past 200000 km; was doing oil changes every 5000 km prior to that.

Just replaced the original battery last year.

Pros: reliable, comfortable, average gas costs, still looks slick.

Cons: Some parts are just too expensive to replace, i.e.: radio light, console cup holders.

Also, the seat belt is very uncomfortable

Looked into GM cars when getting a new one; none compare to this model, all the seats seem tight, with limited leg room, even the Cadillacs. I ended up with a 2013 Honda Accord Coupe.

Faults:

My number 4 fuel injector went out. I took it out and cleaned it. It now works over 1500 RPM.

Other than that, general maintenance.

General Comments:

Here is where I am stuck. The car has the original everything, BUT it is a GTP Anniversary edition 3.8, k engine code and I can find NONE that were not supercharged. All the numbers match, I knew the previous owner, but every Pontiac guy tells me that all GTP cars were supercharged. Is there a way to find out if this was factory deleted? Or if this is just a rare car?

Faults:

Thermostat failed and replaced.

Fuel pressure regulator failed and replaced.

Right-rear wheel sensor failed (causes ABS and traction control to fail).

Outer-tie rod replaced (do not remember the side).

Passenger front wheel bearing failed and replaced, and driver side front replaced shortly after, but may not have failed.

Blower motor + motor relay + dash control failed from water and ice from car wash. Replaced blower motor and motor relay and seal. Dash control setting 5 doesn't work still.

I believe valve-cover gaskets are leaking, causing loss of oil, difficult to replace compared to some engines.

Vehicle loses coolant regularly, possible cracked head gasket?

Rear shocks failing I believe.

General Comments:

This vehicle is powerful, mostly comfortable, and the dashboard is designed nicely.

However, I'd expect a lot more from a vehicle it's age. For me, this is a new vehicle, and has many problems with low mileage. I consider under 200k to be pretty low.

The vehicle handles like a boat, isn't very responsive, and has had its share of issues, however most were not very expensive, but parts for instance, wheel bearing, was more expensive.

This is my fiance's vehicle, and I think we are selling it soon.
