Faults:

My front windshield is leaking very bad. All the metal is rotten around it, forming fairly big holes. Now my back window is leaking as well, it has big holes around it. At the bottom of the back window there is a pan/cover. Under this it has rotted out and now is leaking water, in big quantities, into the trunk.

My frame has rotted in a few small places back behind the rear wheels.

I also am having some trouble with wiring in the car, due to it being aluminum. I am finding it breaks a lot and I try to fix it, but you can't really do much but replace it with new wire.

General Comments:

The car works really good, but needs more power.

There should have been a bit more thought put into the water draining off around the windows.

Faults:

Brakes and brake drums wore out.

Alternator wore out twice in 6 months (in 10,000 miles).

Seat upholstery cracked.

Air conditioner was non-functional.

Catalytic converter went at 216,000 miles.

General Comments:

Certainly not the kind of car I would want to drive again as a bachelor, but really a good, reliable vehicle which served a long time.

Engine was excellent despite its extreme age and high mileage, it could've gone another 100,000 miles.

Handled reasonably well.

Put over 20,000 miles onto it in just 1 year, and could've kept going strong if I had had the money to buy the replacement converter (and hadn't been in an accident that destroyed the grill).

An excellent car for its age.

Now have a 1988 Buick Regal, which I admire for its much sportier look as a bachelor, but still miss the lack of engine trouble of the old Pontiac.
