1992 Pontiac Sunbird LE 2.0L 4L OHC MPFI
Summary:
Inexpensive and surprisingly high performance
Faults:
Paint on grille is badly faded.
Vinyl dashboard shrank from sunlight and pulled up slightly from console.
Had to replace all four brakes, both rotors, and turn drums.
Right rear wheel cylinder burst and lube inside got in the brake.
Replaced the battery.
Replaced the alternator.
Water pump started leaking and had to be replaced.
Replaced timing belt.
Replaced spark plugs and wires.
Had to put four new tires on it.
Overflow tank cracked and had to be replaced.
All radiator hoses had to be replaced.
The thermostat keeps going bad. I have replaced it three times.
The PVC valve hose runs across the top of the intake manifold and keeps splitting from the heat. This hose is hard to find, and patching it or splicing a piece of another hose on with a clamp never lasts long.
The wheel bolt for one of the lug nuts snapped off and had to be replaced.
The courtesy lights behind the radio controls and shifter have gone out.
General Comments:
This car has great acceleration and handles really well.
It gets great gas mileage.
I have had to put some work into it, but this car takes a lot of abuse and still looks and runs great.
I love this car, and intend to keep it as long as possible. I would buy another one.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I hope you don't think a Honda Civic is a sports car! It is a little cookie cutter economy car. A T-bird is a sports car, a BMW Z8 is a sports car, any Porsche is a sports car, NO Honda will EVER be a sports car. Please try to beat a REAL sports car with your S-Bird.
