2007 Pontiac Vibe 1.8
Summary:
Buy the 1.8L, auto and it will never leave you stranded...
Faults:
Nothing. I do hear a bit of a valve tick once in a while, usually when it's fully warm, but it's not often or for long. Made by Toyota. Seems it's hard to find a decent and reliable vehicle these days. After Japan had a recession in 2000 and the whole world in 2008, there is really only a vehicle here or there that is worth buying.
We love the Vibe and plan to keep it until it dies. We also loved our 2006 Scion xB. Can't say enough about how great that was as well; we only sold it because we thought my fiance was pregnant and bought the Vibe to get more space.
I would replace my Vibe only with another Vibe that has the sunroof and maybe the AWD, but really our FWD with snow tires is excellent in winter. Go buy one and be happy you did. Avoid the 2009 and up Vibe/Matrix as the 2.4L that Toyota put in many of its cars (including the second gen Scion xB) is garbage.
General Comments:
Love it. Plan to keep it for as long as we can.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

The base model of the second generation also comes with the 1.8L engine. The 2.4L was an option.
