1976 Porsche 912 E 2.0L dual Webers

Summary:

Pure driving joy, at a budget price

Faults:

Front brake calipers seized, were replaced along with rotors.

Rubber window seals were dry, cracked and were replaced.

General Comments:

With the dual Webers, this car has strong pulling power, even in the higher gears. But where it really shines is on curvy roads - handling is superb, a pleasure to drive. The design is classic and turns a lot of heads.

1976 Porsche 912 E 2.0L Type IV

Summary:

A fun, economical joy of a ride

Faults:

Window seals became dry, cracked and began to leak.

General Comments:

This is the same as a 911e, except this has a 4-cylinder engine. Still, it has plenty of power for fun driving and is more economical.

This car is very agile on cornering, and generally responsive overall.

It's also comfortable, with contoured seats and smart alignment of seat, dash, steering wheel, etc.

Fuel economy averages about 30mpg.

The heater is inherently weak, so one needs to bundle up on cold mornings. Since the body/frame are galvanized steel, rust is not an issue as it was on similar earlier models.

This is a real gem of a sports car, that I greatly enjoy and will keep as long as possible.
