1983 Porsche 944 2.5

Summary:

There is no greater bang for the buck

Faults:

No problems.

General Comments:

If you can find a well maintained or low mileage 944, buy it and drive it everyday. There is no better value for the fun you will experience in a daily driver. The manual rack and pinion steering alone is my testimony... you can feel it.

1983 Porsche 944 2.5

Faults:

The drivers seat riped a little.

The rear hatch seal wore out.

Painted chipped because the car is so low.

General Comments:

I love my 944.

It could use about 20-30 more horsepower, but other than that the car climbs hills like no other.

Second gear is more fun going thirty miles-an-hour than fith gear going 130.

The handling on this car is the best in the world.

Would I buy this car again? In a heartbeat.

You are right about everything. Good job.

1983 Porsche 944 2.5

Summary:

An affordable performance machine for a purest

Faults:

Alternator diodes blown due to body man hooking light wireing up wrong, 40.00 dollar rebuild.

Hatch seal leaking.

Drivers seat tracks not very strong.

General Comments:

I love the performance of this car, although not as spirited as the 928S,nor as pricey to maintain it is very enjoyable to drive.

It, as far as sports cars go, is very inexpensive to work on if you will take your time to research parts and can do a lot of the work yourself, I.E. rear wheel bearings are 180.00 for the factory and 20.00 at the local parts store as they fit an oil field pump jack, very common in the Midwest.
