1995 SAAB 9000 CS 2.4LPT
Summary:
A pleasure to drive, a burden to own
Faults:
Acquired with faulty radio, intermittent ACC, intermittent dash light dimmer.
Replaced radio, ignored ACC issues, bypassed dimmer.
Parking brake cable broke.
Downpipe from Exhaust Manifold broke, required replacement of entire Cat because all are of one piece. Replaced with aftermarket converter.
Hose to MAP sensor needed replaced.
Fuel Pump needed replaced.
Car was retired after the Left Front axle broke on the Highway.
General Comments:
A pleasure to drive, a burden to own. If you take pleasure in tinkering and have backup transportation, you will get great joy from it. If you need a car that is just THERE for you, day in, day out, get a Saturn.
I won't say I didn't enjoy owning it; I did, but it was getting tiresome the frequency with which something needed attention.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I agree on the 9000 CDE. It is a beautiful car, and I am in the process of restoring one. I must say parts are inexpensive if you are smart and don't listen to the so called Saab experts. I bought a heater hose for the V6; it cost me $8.95, but if I let my mechanic buy it, he was going to charge me $85... The same goes for the water pump. Cost me $35 from the USA with shipping, but getting one locally was at a cost of $300 -- these are great cars, and are indeed cheap to repair if you stand firm and shop around...
