2004 Saturn ION 2
Summary:
Good commuter car
Faults:
When I first purchased the car the passenger side window control would not work. I took it to the dealership and they fixed it. I was told it was loose wires. One day the car would not start. Thought it was the battery, but according to the clock there was only a five minute difference from when I got out of the car and when it died. After reading some reviews I think it might be the ignition switch. Sometimes they I cannot get the key to turn when I try to start the car. My boyfriend was driving the car and called me from work to tell me that it had died was he was driving down the road, but that it started right back up again. I know that I am not the only one who has had this problem! I also had a problem with it not wanting to shift when I was going down a hill. It sounded awful and revved up to 7000 r.p.m. I had to almost stop the car in the road before it would shift back down. The seats stain easily.
General Comments:
It gets great gas mileage. I can fill up for less than $25 and almost make it whole week on a tank. I drive 75 miles a day to work and back. I like the fact that it will let me know when to change the oil, though when I first purchased the car I could not figure out where the oil filter was and it cast me $20 just to get a socket big enough to get the filter off. It needs new tires and rotors, but I think this is just from my everyday driving.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
