2001 Saturn L300
Summary:
I'm stuck with it, and that makes me sad. :0(
Faults:
Pulley broke five months after I bought it, no big deal.
A hose somewhere near the AC unit busted and filled my floor board with cold water, again not too big of a deal.
Fuel Pump assembly broke... Really big deal... but got it fixed.
Now I don't know what the hell is going on. First it hesitated a tiny bit when starting it, then it just turned of when I pressed on the brakes to pull into a parking lot. It was thought to be the fuel pump, but after a few minutes it started again. I turned it off and let it sit for an hour, turned it on again and drove it for three minutes then it stalled when I pressed on the brakes. Replaced the fuel filter, it ran fine the whole day. Next day it hesitated to start and took me about two miles to a store but would not turn back on. The battery died, I guess from cranking it. Charged for one hour then started and got me back home.
Next day I was on my way to take it to get looked at, it hesitated a little to start and it turned at a red light. Battery died again, checked the alternator and battery, they were fine. My mechanic came over and first thought it was the fuel pump, then he thought it was the alternator he eventually connected a machine thing to it. It gave him four different codes. He replaced a part, but it didn't work. Now it's saying the crankshaft position sensor is no good. What the hell??? I am tired of buying parts that don't fix the problem. Could it be the Crankshaft Position Sensor? I have not bought it yet..
General Comments:
Looks good, used to run well. I dunno.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Well, I did get the Crankshaft position sensor, it still hesitated to start so I got a tune-up and that led to finding an oil leak. The spark plugs were swimming in oil. Got the oil leak fixed but now the damn car won't start after driving 20 miles. Like yesterday I went somewhere, left it off for three hours, turned it back on, went home left it off for 10 min went to turn it on to go to the gas station, turned it off then when I went to turn it back on... Nothing. No crank, no click no noise. Sat for five minutes then it turned on. The mirror lights seem to get dim after a while of driving and when I leave it alone over night the lights get bright again!!! :0 (I am so lost on what to do now.

Ron again; forgot, I also replaced the water pump. Also the power steering is going out, along with the water pump again. Love the 2001 L300, not.

I recently had the crankshaft sensor replaced on my 2001 L300 too. That did fix the problem.
I had the car stall on me once, but I didn't worry since it started right up after that.
A few weeks later I started it in a parking lot one night in late December, and it stalled before I could pull out of the parking spot, then it wouldn't start for a few minutes. I was waiting for my friend to come pick me up, but I tried again and it started. I drove it home and everything was fine until I slowed down to park when it stalled once again.
I took it in and they said it was the crankshaft sensor. Haven't experienced that particular problem again.
