1994 Saturn SL SL2 DOHC
Summary:
The Model T perfected.
Faults:
I replaced the alternator and belt myself at about 120000 miles and we had some gaskets replaced on the transmission at about 140000 miles. That's it, other than general maintenance things like brake pads etc. etc.
General Comments:
I can't say enough about this car. This vehicle has been the best I've ever owned in terms of reliability and economy.
The seats are uncomfortable and the engine is noisy.
The air cleaner and battery are tough to access. The oil filter is also in an awkward spot and hard to replace.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I feel you have a shock coming my friend. These cars are very hard to get parts for. All the trade know this. For instance I needed a radiator for my 93 SL2.Autozone and Oreilly could not get one for 5 days. my starter went out agin they do not stock these. my idler pulley went, main dealer part only. the list is endless. good luck until it goes wrong and believe me they go wrong lots. watch the oil consumption. soon you will need an oil tanker in tow.
