General Comments:
I love this vehicle. Saturn has done a good job building a sport utility that is pleasing to look at, reasonably economical, powerful, practical, and functional.
The interior is largely plastic, but for about $25k these days, it's hard to expect much more.
The polymer side panels are a real plus, both to save weight, and improve the car's durability. My 8-year old SL2 still looks great without the dings that one would expect in an all-metal car.
The Honda V6 is the best. It's smooth and powerful. I test drove the 4 cylinder model, and found it had a hard time getting out of its own way. The V6 makes all the difference. If you intend to pass other cars while climbing a hill, or towing anything, get the V6.
Just about every car has difficulties in the first few model years. 2005 seems to have sorted things out.
Keep in mind that the VUE isn't a rock crawler like a Jeep Rubicon, but if you want to go skiing and have a comfortable ride over slushy roads, this is a good choice.
