Faults:

60,000 miles, brakes.

120,000 miles, brakes, exhaust, door lock broke, rear driver's side passenger door won't latch, fob wore out.

Front wheel bearings (both) at 115,000 miles.

Used oil quite frequently. Engine and trans runs good still. The cluster panel stopped working when I started the car one morning; it was freezing out. The AM and FM radio would not work at 20 below zero; disconnected the battery and reconnected; it worked again. The cluster panel started working after I shut car off and restarted it warmed up.

Faults:

Front end wheel work had to be done; long before they should have worn out. We heard and felt a constant buzzing sound from below and to the rear of the vehicle. I brought it to a local auto repair shop, and they showed me where the carrier bearing 'used' to be.

Also the brakes wore out very quickly. We actually had a 2002 4 cyl/FWD that started to begin signs of what most people are complaining about, but at the dealer we upgrade to this current 06 AWD/V6. Night and day. The '02 drove/handled like all the tires were half full: splashy and sloppy handling. The '06 turns on a dime!

General Comments:

The '06 V6/AWD has been a safe reliable car.

It handles very, very well.

It seems all of these Saturns are a hit or miss from the production line. I wonder if it has to do with the old school of thought that something manufactured on Tuesday or Wednesday is better than the one built on Monday or Friday? Although we have had some repairs done, it has been reliable. Ours was a hit!

The Saturn dealers/service were all a bunch of shysters! (cheats) Their capabilities was very poor. Our local shop was far more experienced and knowledgeable of this car than the dealers!

Faults:

I have had the ignition cylinder replaced three times. The key still feels "grabby" in the cylinder and I will tell the dealership about it during the next visit. It's still under warranty, but I'm concerned this is going to be an ongoing issue and expense. It took them 3 hours during the last repair because the mechanic has to reassemble the entire steering column before he knows if the new cylinder will work.. and it did not. He had to take everything apart and start over. I imagine this will be a fortune in labor once the warranty lapses.

General Comments:

The vehicle is roomy and comfortable for our family. I'm a fan of manual transmission, and this seems to be something rare in a vehicle this size. I enjoy all the features.

Faults:

Oil leaking at 6500k.

Ignition cylinder replaced because it jammed and would not turn.

Oil leaking again.

General Comments:

My 2006 Saturn Vue has been nothing but a big pain in the butt.

Although most problems have been covered under the warranty, it seems to have lived at the dealership garage.

We had a oil leak at 6500k, determined to be a leaking oil pan gasket. Continued leaking after 3 more attempts to repair before the dealer determined it to be a porous block and replaced the engine block.

6 weeks later and a new engine block leaking oil again. This time they figure it to be a improperly planned timing plate cover. Seems OK now, but I'm a little wary that there may still be seepage.

Needless to say my brand new paved driveway was ruined from all the oil leaking from my brand new car.

The ignition cylinder was replaced because metal shavings jammed it up and would not allow it to turn.

Lots of rattles and strange noises, some of which have been fixed and some that the mechanic doesn't seem to hear or at least not until the warranty runs out.

A few other problems, but I think everybody pretty much gets the point.

Saturn Vue is a piece of garbage that I'm sorry I ever bought, and I will not be going back to Saturn or GM for that matter again.

We bought this vehicle with 11k, and it only has 33500k.

What a piece of junk.
