2003 Suzuki XL-7 2.7L

Summary:

Horrible car for the money

Faults:

The AC compressor leaks/makes noise.

The vehicle has a mysterious belt squeal that no one can seem to fix.

The interior has faded quickly.

The interior parts and accessories are low quality and have easily broken.

General Comments:

This SUV may seem to be a great value, but it is far from that. We have had this car for a couple of years, and it is rapidly falling apart.

The A/C keeps having problems that no mechanic can seem to fix. Suzuki dealers don't really seem to want to help owners fix the garbage they have built. The engine is underpowered for the weight of the car, so it gets horrible gas mileage (16 hwy).

Many of the interior parts like buttons have broke, and the interior is uncomfortable and has faded rapidly.

The car has a horrible suspension system and a terrible ride.

I believe this is one of the worst Japanese SUVs you can buy; go with a Nissan or a Toyota.

2003 Suzuki XL-7 LX 4x4 2.7 V6 gas

Summary:

Best 4x4 suv for the money, especially if you buy it one year used

Faults:

Hardly anything has gone wrong. Keyless entry failed after 2 years. Rear window washer had a pinched line. O2 sensor had to be replaced at 55,000 miles. that's it.

General Comments:

This is a great smaller 4x4 suv. I have pulled, motorcycles, boats, utility trailer without problems. In 4 wheel drive, I have gone through snow, sleet, rain and Georgia red clay. Original tires, bridgestone were not the best, otherwise I plan to drive this suv for a long time...

2003 Suzuki XL-7 Grande Touring V6

Summary:

Over all it has been a good car so far

Faults:

The air conditioner does not cool the car. I checked the fuse block under the hood and found relays for the air conditioner after checking the air fuse (good. I bought a new relay after tapping the front one and the compressor started. It made it through last summer and this fall it stopped completely. I changed the relay and nothing. I feel their should be a recall because I have found many other owners that had the air going. This was common in the 70's when I was a kid and air was a novelty for most. In this day and age air conditioning technology is such that the should run a million miles. I have a 60 year old refrigerator in my garage that runs like new, never touched. It was one of the first made after WWII so the technology is there. Come on Suzuki, back your products.

2003 Suzuki XL-7 Limited 2.7 V6

Summary:

Second time buyer... that should tell all!

Faults:

Had to replace the front pads a little early due to towing. Have had constant problems with the cd player on the 6-disk changer that I'm still waiting after two complaints in two years. Had a couple plastic levers and latches break off that were fixed on warranty. Factory tires were garbage and wore out at around 20,000 miles.

General Comments:

This is the second Xl-7 that I have owned. Gave my first one up in a divorce. I liked it so much that I bought another... that alone should speak volumes. I have an extended family any we needed the 7-seat option. The kids are growing now and it's a fight to get anyone to volunteer to set in the backseat.

I have really worked the snot out of this rig towing right up or slightly over the 3000lb towing limit. It does pretty well with the overdrive off and using the "power" option on the tranny which alters the shift points. Even up the steepest grades I can usually hold at 45 at a high RPM. I always use synthetics in the motor and have the diffs and tranny changed out when required.

Great build quality...I'd rate it right up there with Toyota's!

2003 Suzuki XL-7 Liimited 2.7

Summary:

This SUV delivers value, performance, and luxury at a great price

Faults:

The only problem that I've had is that the running boards faded due to rain water sitting.

General Comments:

The longer I own this vehicle, the more I like it.

Brakes are still good after 48,000 miles!

Gas mileage has improved with age.

The paint-job finish is flawless, people ask it the car is new still!

2003 Suzuki XL-7 Limited 6 Cylinder

Summary:

Nice vehicle, good price and warranty, not much under the hood, not sorry we bought it.

Faults:

Heated seats never worked and the dealer needs to keep it overnight to fix.

Developed transmission leak at 6000 miles though covered under warranty.

General Comments:

The engine is undersized for the vehicle. Don't try to pass on a hill, or on level ground, or going downhill.

Nice features for a $21K vehicle (with rebate). Power everything. Leather. It's nice. Third row seating. You can't get into anything similar for under $30K.

2003 Suzuki XL-7 Limited (Leather) 2.7

Summary:

Quality at a bargain price, with flawless execution of our multifaceted lifestyle

Faults:

After over 20,000 miles the only unexpected service that we required was a frayed seat belt to be replaced under warranty.

General Comments:

This SUV is excellent! My wife and I were debating on whether to keep or not our Infiniti, but we both agreed that the XL-7 must stay. For a 7-seater the miles per gallon is pretty good. With a family of 5 and sometimes 6 this SUV meet the needs and supplies the complements for us!

I definitely recommend you test drive one if you're looking for a SUV or Minivan.

2003 Suzuki XL-7 LXIII 2.7 V6

Summary:

Great White Pearl Utility Vehicle

Faults:

None yet. Only 350 miles on the vehicle.

General Comments:

We bought a pearl white unit with 7 passenger seating. The fit and finish are very good and the tailgate makes for easy access. Seating is a little cramped in the 3rd row seat, but it does give you passenger carrying options.

The most amazing thing is that we were able to get this SUV (MSRP $22,499) for under $18,000!!! That was a steal since dealer invoice is around $21,000.

You did well with the price,

I paid £16,000 for my new xl7 2.7.auto back in 2003.
