1992 Toyota Celica GT 2.2

Summary:

The car is as close to perfect as a car can be

Faults:

Oil Pump Seals

Steering Rack Seals

Power Steering Hose

Clutch Hydraulics

Radiator (twice)

A/C Evaporator valve.

General Comments:

This car is ultra-reliable. The things that have gone wrong are simply rubber deteriorating over time. I consider this normal, expected maintenance. About the only complaint I have is it's needed two radiator replacements. The Evaporator valve is a recall item.

The driver comfort and fit are impeccable.

The handling is perfectly balanced. I don't push it to its limit, but under all driving conditions it's solid on the road and a dream to drive long distances. It's very hard to get into trouble with this car.

After all this time and all those miles, it still runs like brand-new. And looks close to brand-new.

Dealer service is outstanding. Toyota service department know how to find problems and fix them right before the cause a real problem. And, at least the dearer I go to will deal with repair prices.

1992 Toyota Celica GT 2.2 DOHC 5SFE

Summary:

The celica is a smaller version of the 93-98 supra to me

Faults:

THE AXLES always go out the worst part about the car and the third gear on manual transmission come out bad.

General Comments:

The celica lift back in particular looks great its pretty quick for stock its compact sports light and quick and has a lot of potential of being more of what it has.

1992 Toyota Celica GT 2.2L DOHC

Summary:

Every night feels like Christmas, because the next day I get to drive this car. Its that damn good

Faults:

Nothing severely wrong has gone with it, so far this car has been mechanically perfect. Only things I should mention is that the brake pads are worn to nothing and shocks in the back are bad... but those are normal maintenance issues.

General Comments:

So far (Though I haven't had this car TOO long), this car is treating me like a king. Its never had any problems, knock on wood. (Complete opposite than the sunbird I had owned previously, but lets just ignore that one)

For a 4 Cyl car with DECENT (Good for the year) power, it gets decent gas mileage. I've seen worse, but I've also seen a lot better. I find that if I keep it down to 2.500 RPM's its not too bad.

I find that the stock seats in it aren't that comfortable, especially if you have neck problems. I'm 6'1" and I can't really drive for too long of a period of time (too bad, too, because this car is SO fun to drive!).

I know this isn't a high powered sports car, but it's got enough kick to get me going 50 KM/H or 110KM/H quickly.

I love my little Celica.

1992 Toyota Celica GT- Coupe 2.2L

Summary:

Great Car, I'd recommend it to anyone!

Faults:

The antenna has fallen off, but it was easily screwed back on in a matter of three minutes.

No mechanical problems at all.

General Comments:

Great car. I used to own a 1995 Dodge Intrepid (auto) and loved the car for it's power. I thought that switching to a smaller car would prove to be a little disappointing as far as the power that it could provide, but I was proven wrong.

Car is fast

Reliable

Shifts perfectly

Exterior is in excellent condition

Interior is in perfect condition

Love the look and feel of this car.

(this was my first car that was stick, I learned how to drive it in about 30 minutes and it was great)

1992 Toyota Celica GT 2.0

Summary:

Reliable and sporty import

Faults:

The serpentine belt slipped, but did no damage at all to the engine. The total cost including labor was $146.00.

Apart from that, I have done nothing to the car except put a new set of tires on, and changed the oil every 4,000 miles.

General Comments:

A great little car with surprising performance and great fuel economy. It's a bit cramped inside, but not uncomfortable. The trunk is huge for such a small car.

If you need parts, most are available off the shelf at popular parts centers.

The car has no rust at all, and turns heads.

The only fault I've had was due to the original owner never replacing the serpentine belt, and it got old and slipped, which knocked the timing out. This was a simple fix.

The car is 100% reliable, which is more than can be said for the Chevy Malibu that it replaced.
