1995 Toyota Corolla 1.6

Summary:

Excellent commuter car!

Faults:

Left side motor mount. (Car was hit on left side when purchased) Other than that, nothing.

General Comments:

I have had this car for almost a year, racked up a significant amount of miles on it, and have had no issues! The car is great on gas, starts in the morning and gets me to where I want to go. This car (as well as the other Toyota's that I have owned) is extremely reliable! My only small complaint is that it does tend to lack a little power. However, at almost 30 MPG who cares? I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a cheap reliable vehicle.

I loved my old Mazda 626 from 1993. I now have a pinewood Toyota Corolla 1.3. I have no idea what pinewood is, it is just a sticker on the back. At first I thought it is modified, but I saw it on an other red Toyota. Other than that, the only thing about the Toyota I like, is the economy. It has a terrible ride, sounds like it is trying to crash under the bonnet, and has very heavy steering. But then again it's cheap, reliable and well built.

My 1995 Toyota corolla is very reliable. I has broken down on the road because the battery terminal was slack. A quick start and it was o. k again. A month ago it broke down because the distributor went, it was easy to get and install.

Here in Jamaica Toyota corollas are very expensive, no matter the way they look. A Corolla will always fetch you a good price. a 1995 Corolla will cost about five to six thousand U. S Dollars.

I love my corolla.

1995 Toyota Corolla DX 1.8

Summary:

Most reliable car on the road

Faults:

First 200,000 miles were flawless!

Starter at 200,000 miles.

CV joints, half-shafts at 330,000 miles.

Transmission fluid leak from main seal at 350,000 miles. I have not repaired the leak, so add about a pint of transmission fluid per week.

General Comments:

This is the most dependable car I have ever owned. Just routine maintenance performed and it runs flawlessly on a 100 mile drive every day. I will buy another Toyota, either Corolla or Camry, though I don't think any new car will be as good as this old Corolla.

Some think 1994 is not so old. I like 1987 model years.

My boyfriend's 1995 Toyota Corolla has similar problems... the car is loud, the key does not open the trunk, and he has spent hundreds of dollars repairing the exhaust and it is still loud... the paint is bad... etc.

Different places give us different stories... the latest one is that the Toyota dealer service center feels the transmission is on its way out, but he only diagnosed this based on a noise it makes... and he seems all to eager to help us get rid of it. .. so we don't know what to think, who to believe, or what to do.

1995 Toyota Corolla DX 1.8

Summary:

A reliable car that sips fuel

Faults:

Battery: Replaced at about 110,000 miles.

Starter: Replaced at about 110,000 miles.

Other than this, it's just been the normal things like brakes, tires, plugs and wires. Nothing else has gone wrong.

General Comments:

The car handles well around corners and in the wind and rain (Good tires).

I'm 5'10" and there is just enough leg room. All of the controls feel comfortable to me. The interior still looks new, except for the drivers set and floor mat of course.

The car has decent acceleration for in city driving. The power is Adequat for a daily driver.

The ride is good, but will be even better once I replace the struts, strut mounts, engine and suspension bushings.

Overall, I like this car a lot. I would buy another one only for the reliability and good gas mileage (average of 33-35 MPG).

Also, this car doesn't have a limited slip differential, so it's not a really good car if you have lots of snow where you live. It's good enough for flat country, but not hilly.

If you are looking for a reliable car that is good on gas, then look no further then this.

If you want more performance, get a later model or something made for performance. This is not a performance car.
