2007 Toyota Sienna LE 3.5
Summary:
Surprised at repairs, but love it nonetheless
Faults:
Front passenger hub/wheel bearing was worn out - $250.
Power steering rack assembly / gear was leaking fluid - $1100.
Belt tensioner assembly was squeaking at idle - $550.
Alternator started squeaking once the belt tensioner was replaced - $500.
General Comments:
This is my first Toyota and my first minivan. I love the van part, but the Toyota part I'm unsure about.
The original owner may have neglected this vehicle. Upon purchase the brakes, plugs, and fluids all needed attention. This was no surprise. However, the other more expensive repairs are a surprise coming from a Toyota.
I love the power door, but would have spent the extra money on a newer model with dual power doors.
So far it really drives and handles very well.
The transmission shifts perfect (except when cold, but that is by design).
The 3.5L engine has a timing chain rather than timing belt, and it has some great pickup! The van is very fast and will go if you need to.
Oh yeah, the speakers are blown inside so I have to replace those... not Toyota's fault.
Even knowing all that had to be fixed, I'm glad I bought it, and expect to drive it for several years while our family is growing.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I have a similar problem with my 2007 Sienna CE that I purchased brand new. I was not able to replicate the problem also.
I just hope that we won't have the sludge problem with our Sienna, since the class action lawsuit only stops at the 2002 year Sienna. Google "toyota sludge" or youtube it.
