1987 Toyota Supra 3.0 non turbo
Summary:
A fun RWD 200hp car for $5000.00
Faults:
Bought the car from original owner who drove it lightly and took care of it. He had all the reciets of service and repairs, so I paid high blue book. I thought the clutch would need replaced since it had over 100k miles on her, but after taking it apart it looked barely used. Put a new centerforce II clutch in any way. Also replaced brakes, radiator, t'stat, and installed a K&N air filter. Then the head gasket went. Coolant kept overflowing reservoir.
I did the job myself and it cost me less than $200.00. Used Fel-Pro gaskets and shaved head 0.012" for $50.00. Every thing else on car is tight and working great.
General Comments:
Although I have spent almost another 1k to get this car in good reliable shape again, I still feel like I got a great deal for a car of this level. This car is generally easy to work on, will probably last another 100k miles with minimal problems, and is a blast to drive hard. To me this is a lot of car for the money. You get 4 wheel vented disk brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension with shocks not struts, and it is rear wheel drive so it doesn't torque steer. I feel safe driving this car too (weighs 3500#), and it has some front end to it, not like some of those front drive boxes on the road.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

And just how much did you pay for your Supra?
