1997 Toyota T100 SR5 3.4
Summary:
Satisfaction!
Faults:
Nothing went wrong with the truck. Just normal wear and tear. Changed the oil with full synthetic oil every 3000 miles, and put new tires on it during the time I owned it. Sold it hoping to find another with automatic transmission.
General Comments:
Never a lick of trouble with this truck. Shifted smoothly, strong engine, easy switch from 2WD into 4WD High and 4WD Low. Guess I did have to replace the radiator, bumper, grille, after someone ran a red light and hit me up front. While I was at it, I went ahead and put new head lights and tail lights on it.
I bought it for $3500, sold it for $4000 and have been wanting to buy another one ever since! I'm looking for an automatic, with under 200K miles in the same price range and they just don't seem to be available.
About 3 months ago I saw one advertised locally. Automatic, 4x4, Topper, X-tra Cab, mint condition, 16K miles, asking $22,000. It was sold in less than an hour! Had I had the $22,000 at the time, the thing would be sitting in MY driveway and guarantee you, would be the last vehicle I would own in my lifetime! :)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Many have purchased "old" but desirable domestic cars and sold some for many times the new original price later. Then immediately bought a brand new different car that is higher priced in the present from the gain without a car loan from flipping. Even breaking even and getting all your money back is good. That means even factoring the car insurance you paid in. Get all that? And you can do it with imports too (mainly the desirable European ones). So this truck story isn't any different than my comment. Just have to know or have a good idea what to go after.

If someone paid $22K for a 97 T100, even if it had ZERO miles, it only proves that P.T. Barnum was absolutely right!
