1994 Toyota Tercel Basic 1.5L Fuel Injected
Summary:
Wish they didn't stop making them as long as they fixed the oil problem
Faults:
Burned oil since before ownership.
-need a quart or two of oil after fill up on gas.
Water Pump/Timing belts twice (138k and 198k).
CV Boots (162k).
Fuel Pump (153k).
Tires (170k).
First clutch (192k).
Camshaft Oil Gasket constant problem.
-defect from Toyota Tercel's 91-94.
Shocks/Struts at (195k).
A/c dash lights didn't work found at junkyard easy to replace.
Fuel light didn't work.
Car that was manual needed a tachometer.
General Comments:
Other than the usual problems car ran very well.
Other original parts are still on there.
Just got a 2001 Toyota Corolla and love it like the Tercel.
Tercel never broke down on the road even though it needed maintenance.
Great handling/cheap maintenance.
Gas mileage awesome 32city 42hwy even while running a/c the gas mileage ran the same.
Ran through all weather conditions since conditions change constantly in Richmond, VA as you have heard.
Would've brought another one, but I didn't want to wait till the 2007 Yaris, dislike the Echoes (limited options)
I AM AND ALWAYS WILL STICK TO TOYOTA BRANDS.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
