Tundra is great on towing. I have a 32ft Jayco Travel trailer GVW of travel trailer 9300lbs. This truck has no problem with towing.

I am going to be honest with this review. I am aware of a lot of the concerns with this new truck, including things like the tailgate issue, the tranny issue, the engine issue, but so far for me the truck has been great. I have had no problems with the truck yet (crossing my fingers). But then again I only have 3780 miles on it.
Again being completely honest, this truck so far has been amazing to me. When I had to pull my 6900lbs boat, there was no problem, it did an amazing job.
When I wanted to drive for a relatively long road trip, and got 19.8 miles per gallon, I was happy, and still am happy with my choice.
I am not going to get into the whole debate of import vs domestic, or Ford vs Toyota. I did the research when the truck first came out, loved the pulling power, love the comfort level, loved the looks, basically loved everything about it. Nobody had the foresight to know that things like this would happen. Fortunately, so far Toyota has honored these mistakes with the warranty.
We all as Toyota owners knew this was a possibility. Toyota IS the new kid on the block in the sense of making full size pickup. But like I said, SO far, SO good.
Another thing to take into consideration; we as people in general, typically don't take the time to praise anything, typically we take the time to complain. I am really quite frankly not surprised to see so many unhappy people. I am sorry for you bad experiences, but there are still 449,298 tundra owners who have not voiced their opinions. Good luck to everyone with whatever vehicle they chose.

I've yet to come across anyone who has bought a SECOND Tundra. They always go back to domestics. I guess that says it all.
With 3780 miles I would hope it is so far... so good. At 35,999 miles I would turn it in.
It pulls my 6000 pound trailer fine. Not as well as my Cummins did though.
And ya know, it ain't as good as the Mack either... Let's face it -- comparing a Tundra (1/2 ton gasoline pickup) to a Dodge with a Cummins (at least a 3/4 ton diesel pickup) is not a valid or valuable comparison. You need to keep the apples in the same barrel as other apples --- so to speak.
I bought an 05 Tundra, had 280,000 trouble free miles until I was rear ended by a guy doing 65 mph. Bought an 08 Tundra and am currently at 285,000 miles.
I still have an overall good opinion of the truck
Tailgate bent at top corners. I was carrying a half ton of lumber with tailgate down. The corners are weak as there is a gap where the inner and outer sheetmetal is not connected. The liner of the tailgate is higher than the liner of the bed. This also puts most of the weight on the tailgate. Previous models were not like that.
Overall high quality, good standard equipment.

My 2008 Tundra Limited double cab 4 x 4 is OK. The more I drive it, the more I don't think it's any better than any other full sized truck.
My rearview mirror makes the most annoying noise (a crackling noise). Drives me nuts.
The tail gate is very thin material and seems weak. Why do these Toyotas need to race their engines to such a high rpm when you first start them up in the mornings?
It pulls my 6000 pound trailer fine. Not as well as my Cummins did though.
I'm glad I'm leasing, so I can try something else in 32 months.
