1992 Volkswagen Eurovan GL 2.5L
Summary:
Super reliable family mover
Faults:
Solenoid for door locks require repair. I thought it would be very expensive, but turned out to be reasonable.
Gear shift knob pops off all the time and dealer keeps replacing the hex nut holding it in place to no avail.
General Comments:
The vehicle is underpowered, but not frustratingly so.
Unbelievable space for kids and cargo. We feel very safe in this car, high up with a solid feel.
Sliding windows are a nuisance to deal with, but have not broken.
Seat fabric is fantastic quality, our seats are like new, even the driver seat with 230K!
Interior is very practical, but not stylish.
Good economy for such a large vehicle, around 22-25 mpg.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

If you have more than 200,000 miles, you better change your timing belt, now!! If it breaks when the engine is running, you will need to do a valve replacement.
