Faults:

The air bag lite first came on about 6 months after I bought it. I took it to the dealer and it was repaired. About a month later it came on again and was repaired by dealer. Now it seems every couple of months I can count on this to come on. I have been back to the dealer six times so far for this problem.2. Drivers side power window broke. Brought it back to the dealer. When it was fixed??? The window had a mind of it's own. If you raised it it would go down then up or vice versa. Dealer said it was repaired. Still does it sometimes.

General Comments:

For a new car I felt it was in the shop more than was acceptable. Also dealer tried to charge me $63.00 for a oil change. I had to put up quite a fuss to get it reduced to $35.00. I now do it myself for about $14.00.

Faults:

Glove box door hinge broke twice.

Gas flap broke and lodged in filler tube neck, had to remove and replace entire gas tank, two days in shop.

Center console latch between seats fell off on the way home from gas tank repair.

Drivers side door latch needs to be pulled several times to get door open. It was fixed and the problem is now back.

The check engine light is always on, the ASR and EPC lights come and go.

Needed new rear brakes at 29000 miles.

Get emissions workshop warning 30 seconds after getting underway.

Bolts came loose in front end at less than 1000 miles.

General Comments:

I will never buy another VW again. This car has had more problems in 30k miles than my 1985 Escort had in it's 356K life.

Faults:

Front driver's side window malfunction (twice)

Oxygen sensor malfunction.

Mass Air Flow sensor malfunction.

Replaced Rear brake pads and rotor.

Center armrest latch broke.

Glove compartment handle broke.

All of this occured after my 24,000 mile warranty expired. The drives well, but there are too many unexpected, costly repairs for this car.

Faults:

My Driver Side Window Regulator went bad and the window fell down.

My Passenger Side Window Regulator Went bad 5 times, now on the 6th time and the dealer taped the window closed.

The Heat Sensor went bad after 3,000 miles. The Center Arm Rest cover was replaced. The Oil Pan Gasket was replaced, and the dealer charged me when they broke the oil pan drain plug.

The Tweeter of the Monsoon system rattle. The Woofer magnet on the passenger side was rattling inside the door panel instead of being on the speaker. The front ground effect air foil fell out. The rear brakes squeak when in reverse.

General Comments:

I am glad my lease is almost up.

I thought a German car made in Mexico was a good idea.

Never, ever, another VW.

End of Story. I will ride a bike.

Faults:

Door oozing crap constantly since day 1 (The amazing thing is that there is still ooze to leak out after 2+ years)

Sensor that keeps going out and causes the check engine light to come on (even after Jetta Recall replacement!)

6 Disk CD Changer skips all the time.

Glove-box door hinge broke in half.

Passenger side seat coil/spring popped off.

Strange lags and lurches in acceleration.

Rear brakes squeaked like crazy - had to replace at 16,000 miles.

Weak air conditioning & musty air conditioning smell.

Rear tweeter sounding scratchy.

Cup Holder jams intermittently.

Creaks, squeaks and rattles too numerous to list and getting worse everyday.

General Comments:

The car handles well.

Engine itself has held up well.

Sensors go out frequently.

Horrendous quality issues.
