2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo

Summary:

Good vehicle so far, sporty, and an enjoyable drive

Faults:

Radio and reverse rear camera is sometimes finicky and does not work.

Tire pressure sensor light on dash comes on on the dash when outside temperatures drop or when it gets considerably cold outside.

General Comments:

Runs good, sporty, plenty of pickup and pep. Sporty handling and gets the job done. Suspension feels a little primitive and stiff at times, but putting into comfort mode helps soften the ride.

Get compliments about the stock black wheels. Stereo system is decent with good sound. Trunk space is very generous. I wish the interior were more spacious, but it is not a full size sedan.

Occasionally other drivers on the road will try to race you, outrun you, or speed beside you and pull in front of you aggressively because the GLI emblem or dual exhaust tips or sporty appearance of the car excites them and they feel a need to “Oh I’ll show him and smoke that little VW that thinks he is hot stuff.”.

Still a newer car now at the moment with 7,500 miles. No issues at the moment. Radio and rear camera occasionally act up, but I reboot and the glitches go away.

It seems to run more powerfully in the cold when temperatures go below 30 degrees outside.

Gas mileage doesn’t seem too great, but I do drive aggressively. I haven’t had a chance to take a long highway trip, but perhaps the gas mileage will shine better traveling at 70 mph for several hundred miles.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

The self-admitted "drive aggressively" tendencies of the reviewer is what "excites" other drivers, not some GLI emblem or dual exhaust tips LOL.

One year old, and already having issues with the tire monitor system. No matter what brand of vehicle this can be annoying.

Tire pressures drop with the temperature. Apparently it has not occurred to the reviewer to add some air to the tires to keep the light off "when outside temperatures drop" or, also, "when it gets considerably cold outside".

How do you know others drive aggressively in reaction to your car’s model designation, specifically?
