1988 Nissan Sunny LX 1.3
Summary:
Very well, I would own another one! (If it had 4 doors and 1600-engine)
Faults:
One of the threads in the rear window defroster broke at 144000. Nothing bad, though.
The clutch burnt out at 145000 due to erratic driving and a lot of clutch-hanging instead of holding on the brake when standing in road crossings etc.
A little rust under the wheel arches (front)
General Comments:
This car is great. The clutch was already worn when I bought it, but I replaced it. I have recently been on a 1013 km long trip in Norway, and the car handled exceptionally.
It is very reliable and it always starts, even if it is -30 celsius degrees.
The heater is effective and I usually start the car before I go to work in the morning 6-7 minutes before I am off. When I get to the car, it is warm and comfortable.
Automatic choke is a bit staggered though. If the car has been parked for a week or so, the engine might die after a couple seconds running and needs a re-start, but it will run fine after that.
The only reason I am selling it is that 1300 ccm engine is a bit too small for me, and I definitely need more than a 3-door-combi-car, regarding the amount of passengers I usually bring with me every day. It is kind of inconvenient having to step out of the car whenever a backseat passenger is leaving the vehicle.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
