This car is a master piece

Faults:

Although this vehicle is excellent in running, but the major drawback is its braking system which is not much reliable than Toyota or Honda etc.

General Comments:

This car is very quick and its acceleration is cool.

Its really a racer by nature.

Its fuel consumption is excellent i.e,19 kilometer per liter with fifth gear.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

The car is good in braking if you buy only branded brake shoes & pads. It saved my life when I hit the brakes at 140km on the highway to avoid a camel hit in 1998. Great car for the value, better than a Corolla or Sunny, but has NO resale value.

Can anyone tell me, are the spare parts of Daewoo Racer and mechanic easily available in Karachi? Is the price of maintaining this car reasonable?

I have my own DAEWOO RACER GTI 1995. The interior is still good, the body paint is good, but for a minor scratch on the front and hood.

The accelerating is okay, but have a problem with idle, sometimes get abnormal and turns the engine off. Also have a problem in cooling system; the sensor reacts, but the engine is already very hot.

Where can I find a service center here in Philippines region 1?

OK, good to hear that your Racer is running well. You need to do these things in your Daewoo Racer to keep it running great.

Get your throttle body clean

Clean injectors

Change fuel filter

Spark plugs

Engine oil with new oil filter (15w 30) engine oil type

Air filter

Get your engine de-carbonised by using engine flush

Just follow these steps, and I'm 100% sure your car will have a new peak performance & a new feel driving it. Do reply about it.

1993 Daewoo Racer 1.5i

Summary:

Much better than Suzuki

Faults:

Car's engine performance is superb. There is lots of noise inside the car while all the windows closed. Brakes performance are dead. Engine gives better shoot in starting, but at the speed of 120 km/h it seems as there is something missing or just there is no comfortability and at this speed brakes seem as not more than NONE. But no doubt car is much reliable as I normally change its oil over 10,000 km and this car never becomes hassle for me therefore I like it and still I keep it and I don't have any intention to sale it out.

A high performance bargain don't sell it

Faults:

The biggest problem with this car is its brakes which need repairing very frequently.

General Comments:

This car is seriously quick and handles like it's on rails. It has a very powerful engine and just taking some little care of it make it a very good car. Its aircondintioner is really cool here in hot summer of lahore and its road grip is excellent. It works on both patrol and CNG very well just clean terminals of battery and earth regularly and change oil and filter this car will enjoy you.

Dash board makes too much noise

General Comments:

A great car.

Runs moves nothing like it .

Wonderful car best one.

Better than corolla, civic and Suzuki. This car is seriously quick and handles like it's on rails.

I have this car since the Christmas holidays of 1992 and particularly happy with it.

It's now almost 86000 km and the worst thing that happened with my Korean love so far is the drum brakes that blocked due to unknown reason (most likely humidity). Now I face some major repairs 'cause some mechanic didn't do what he was supposed to do - apart from the air & fuel filters I have to change the exhaust system (maybe the whole),the timing belt, some minor maintenance on the front-end, fix the A/C (the freon has leaked out)

+The car accelerate very quickly;

+Handles well and for a '92 car is full of extras;

+Out of town it's capable of maintaining 150-160kph @5th gear (3700-4500rpm);

+There's room for customizations;

-Dashboard rattles, especially on our "nice" roads, on highway is like a wasp;

-14 years now, there are minor traces of rust on the both rear fenders;

-the A/C eats about 10% of the power, so its almost impossible to overtake with the A/C on (except on highways).

It is an excellent car except it becomes too heavy on the a/c.

General Comments:

Excellent car. Exceptionally good for racing.

Nothing at all. It has been 4 years, not even a single problem from the engine and the rest.

The Daewoo Racer is a good car. But it isn't capable to be compared with the Honda Accord or might it be a Civic. Because the owner of the Daewoo hasn't told us about the recent Accord he owned. What was the model? How much was its mileage and when did he buy that car? I am sure if the car was in fine condition and used well it is far superior and a better car..! And if he wants the proof, he better drive an Accord of the same model (93) having the same condition. He'll know the difference...
