1998 Dacia Nova GTi 1.6 Bosch Monotronic Injection

Summary:

It's a pity it wasn't produced in the 80's, with a little bit of attention to details..

Faults:

Doors needed to be tuned in order to close properly.

The interior heating system needed to be replaced at 15,000 km.

Loss of cooling water at 20,000 km.

The engine started to have a bad noise at 30,000 km. One of the safety rings from the valves fell. I was lucky the engine survived!

The exhaust system needs to be replaced every two or three years because of rust.

After only one winter it started to rust! Everywhere!

The headlights switch needed to be replaced after using them on high beam for a long period of time.

The signaling relee needed to be replaced.

General Comments:

+ Very good stability in curves.

+ Very good braking.

+ Pretty good acceleration, considering that the engine is a 35 years old design by Renault, with a 10 years old monotronic injection by Bosch.

- Engine/injection not tuned properly. It fluctuates when standing; probably this is the cause for a high fuel consumption in city (10-12 l / 100 km).

- Poor quality of interior components resulting in a loss of image. A lot of noise when driving on the bumpy roads of Bucharest.

- Could have been a great car if it wasn't for the poor quality of components and assembly.

Nova dacia is a good car, but the spare parts are not available here in Egypt and if it found it would be very expensive, so I would like to tell the manger of the factory about that thanks.

I bought a Dacia Nova used car. price of about 2700 dollars is very low compared to the modern form. Car Show in general is good. for the relatively small, but not bear a number of persons. it is A quick and fairly constant and spare parts available. Economic fuel consumption. But with all this, no one is loved in Egypt do not enjoy a good reputation, no one says anything substantive in this regard.

Dacia Nova GTi C - My father has owned one and has had a few teething problems with the brakes, this was due to the front calipers not being checked properly and they had a small leak from the bleeder valve!! Apparently quite common!

But apart from that he had his fine tuned and drove it back to the UK from Romania without any problems. Attained a top speed of 182km/h.

The Nova Gti is going to 60mph in 12 seconds with 6 persons on board and luggage, and it's top speed is at 180 km/h. Tested on the police radar!!! It's so strong that I'm going with it to illegal racing! For any other comments call +40722197491 or mail me at mayacars2002@yahoo.com.

1999 Dacia Nova GT 1.6 carburetor

Summary:

The only chance to buy a new car with $3000!!!

Faults:

The clutch broke after 300 km (it lacked a small device since fabrication). It was replaced at no cost (under warranty).

Leaking under the windshield.

It didn't start during winter on a couple of occasions.

The front seats make an annoying sound when driving on bumpy roads.

It 'drinks' a lot of gas when driven in the city.

General Comments:

The best one can get at this price (~3000$ - new).

Nice start from a standing point and very stable at high speeds including in curves.

The engine doesn't run smoothly all the time.

Very good brakes.

1999 Dacia Nova GT 1.6 leaded/unleaded fuel

Summary:

Nice and stable

Faults:

Brake disc ovalised from the start.

Water leaks from the front windshield.

Front feft door lock broken into pieces after 15,000 km. Bad details.

General Comments:

Excellent stability. Pretty good engine power. Very stable at any speed including high (120-140 km/h).

Pity that some parts of the car, not manufactured by Dacia broke into pieces after some time. Maybe they'll have to choose other partners?
