1983 Porsche 911 SC 3.0

Summary:

Most gorgeous lines, sound and overall ownership experience

Faults:

Nothing of note - So far the vehicle has only needed oil changes annually and some hassles with the air-conditioning compressor leaking gas. Needs refilling every second year.

General Comments:

Unbelievable car! Seen as a 22 year old with absolutely stunning performance, sound and tractability this vehicle would shame some modern wonders!

The air-conditioning was a Porsche afterthought and works eventually, but struggles to cool the car properly. Other than that a true sports car with locomotive power and surprising speed!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I was recently fortunate to purchase a similar Porsche. The Porsches of the 80's are known as the best Porsche investment. They are the last of the true 911's; others afterwards were built to copy the 911. The Porsches from the 80's are also the "bullet proof" Porsches. These autos were built to last and not cost a fortune to fix simply because they were built right in the first place! If you look at what the Porsche 911 sold for in the 80's it is easy to understand why. In order for Porsche to build new autos of that quality, they will have to cost over $200,000.00, especially if you look at inflation, not just quality! The last of the real 911's are a true tribute to Porsche and Porsche's great history. I hope that one day; Porsche will reclaim this legacy in being not only exclusive, but also the BEST. Until then, those of us fortunate enough, can still own one of the best for virtually nothing and still have a better auto than most new cars being sold today for much more money! Moreover, the Porsches of the 80's will seemingly out last them all!!!
