1992 Opel Omega 3000 24V 3L

Summary:

BMW killer!

General Comments:

This is a totally different car than my last one (Volvo 940 GL) The handling is good and the steering is precise and neutral. But the best part is the engine! The specs is as follows: 3 litre straight six cylinder whith a 24 valve head. 204 hp. I have clocked it to under 7 seconds 0-100 km/h (0-60mph) several times and the car have a superb acceleration up to the top speed (over 240 km/h) It can easily win over several cars that have much more hp! (BMW 540 with 286hp is one) It's a genuine sleeper! And all this comes with a realy good fuel economy! that about the rest of the car? well just a good sedan, good interior and a clean look.

1993 Opel Omega GL Caravan 2.0

Summary:

Satisfaction

Faults:

Nothing so far.

General Comments:

Well, since I've only had it a couple of months it has not really been put through the test yet. It is, however, in great condition and, having owned a few opel's before, I don't expect any major problems. There is some wind noise when going above 110 km/h, but that's my only remark so far.

1995 Opel Omega CD 2.5

Summary:

A big, high performance bargain with high comfort

Faults:

Digital display sometimes lacks some lines of the digits.

Door-hinges in the front doors squeak when a door opens.

Difficult to engage rear gear when cold.

General Comments:

This car is very comfortable. I recently drove to Finland (1400 kilometers) and I only stopped once, but that was only because we were hungry.

Very cheap on petrol 7.5 l/ 100 km on the motorway. In town it drinks around 9.0-10.0 l/ 100 km.

It has plenty of room for baggage.

1988 Opel Omega GL 2.0 8-valve

Summary:

Way too underrated!

Faults:

It is something weird with the interval wipers. They stop in front of your nose instead of going back.

There is also rust through the rear fender.

The front seat heaters doesn't work.

General Comments:

OK, there is some electrical problems and rust, things that Opel are known for. But hey-the car is 14 years old! Omega is also a really funny automobile in the wintertime, believe it or not.

And you get a lot of comfort and interior space for the money!

1988 Opel Omega 3000 3.0

Summary:

A high performance bargain

Faults:

I haven't got any problems with this car. It's working fine!

General Comments:

This car is very good and has extremely good road grip. On the highway I have been testing the top speed and 245km/h is no problem. The acceleration is also good, 0-100km/h in 8.3 seconds is not too bad.

Good comfort and lower noise than a Volvo V70 in high speeds.

An excellent car and will keep it for a long time.

I agree, it's a very nice car.

You must remember there is a very big difference in fuel consumption between a 3000 and a 3000 24V.

The 3000 24V is to be preferred.
