1989 Toyota Corolla XL 1.6

Summary:

Reliable and low costs

Faults:

It is very rusty, and it is difficult to repair.

The fan to the air-condition only works at the two top speeds. This makes it very noisy.

The rear suspension gave up after 170000km.

General Comments:

This is a very reliable car. It is not very comfortable, but it takes me from A to B without any problems.

It does not need any maintenance, apart from new oil and oilfilter once a year.

It does not drink a lot of fuel. 7,3 liter / 100km.

I have a 72' KE20 Coupe, its my bush basher, sat down the back since 1992 (still has rego sticker), spent 20Min on it and went for a drive! Has same points, leads, and belts since last serviced in 1987! I like the solid radiator they have. Just an excellent fun bush car to drive - light small and "noisy" with no exhaust pipe. Geeze those 3K Engines make some noise! Also own 2 other KE20's, a KE36 and a KE38 with Aircon and 4K in it. GO! THE 'KE' range.
