1992 Volvo 240 DL 4 cyl.

Faults:

Oxygen sensor replaced at 100k, the black trim turns grey when it rains.

General Comments:

For my first car ever, I am truely proud of my Volvo. It is reliable, safe and the most comfortable car I have ever ridden. Good on gas milage, and looks like new. I will keep it as long as it wants me.

I looked at a 1990 240DL today and will test it tomorrow. I noticed the gray - should be black - trim. I have a Jeep TJ with plastic fenders. I have found that 303 Protectant works wonders. Turns gray back to black. Works much better than other products on tires too. Absorbs into the material instead of just greasing it up. I find it at marine/boat dealers. Based on all the reviews I have read tonight, assuming it starts and runs and I can strike a decent deal, I will be ready to join the "club" this week.

This 240 has 150,000 miles on it, but looks clean. I just sold a 1985 Dodge Caravan with 170,000 miles and my daughter totaled my 1996 Jeep Cherokee with 135,000 miles on it. I am not particularly afraid of miles on the odometer. I did notice the brake pedal was not as worn as some I have seen with 60,000 miles. Only suspect is the pan is oily and many posts have given me ideas about that.
