Faults:

Head gasket failure is common on the 126 BIS.

I replaced gear shifter linkage bushes; they are problematic too.

General Comments:

The car I bought was not used for 15 years (some kind of barn find) but it's very rusty and unreliable. Still, it's enjoyable to drive and easy to repair if you know the basics of mechanics. Car mechanics in Turkey don't want to repair 126's anymore because of the lack of spare parts for this car.

I don't know exact mileage of car; it could be 122.000km or 222.000km even 322.000, but the engine is in good condition and the car can accelerate up to 130-135km/h on the flat.

Faults:

Oil leaks.

Hard suspension.

Weak engine (just 26 HP).

General Comments:

I love my Fiat 126p Bis, water cooled version. In my opinion, it's a good car for me, because I spend less on fuel. It's an easy engine, everybody can understand it. Cheap parts. Also the car is cheap too. Easy parking.

Also everybody loves the 126p. Fun clubs, meetings... It is not a regular car, it is like a son or daughter :)

I wish to have an air cooled version 650E, but the Bis is okay too.

Faults:

Fuel supply problem occurred at 85.000 km.

Water cooling system started to lose water at 83.000 km.

Because of a cooling system fault, the engine started overheating.

General Comments:

It's a cheap and economic car to drive. Due to its size, it's quite ideal for Istanbul traffic and it's so good at parking.

Not fast or comfortable, but reliable, it offers easy driving, and a good view for its class...

Very economic fuel consumption.
