1994 Mazda 323 GT-R 1.8 turbo

Summary:

Hard to find pocket rocket

Faults:

Radiator replaced at 42000.

Shaft cover (rubber) blew at 55000 and 62000, replaced with a bmw part.

Clutch wore out, replaced at 48000.

General Comments:

A veritable pocket rocket with 189 HP under the bonnet. Handling is superb, due to all wheel drive and hard suspension. Designed as a rally car, this is even better on dirt or other loose surfaces. The stealth factor is fun too, such speed and power is not expected from such a small and unknown car. The rarity has a price though, some parts are hard to come by. Uses a lot of fuel too, but an enjoyable sports car nevertheless.

1998 Mazda 323 Familia 1.5 petrol

Faults:

There was some small problems with the front doors. Some noises comes up, but it can be fixed by applying some isolation materials between the door itself and plastic material.

There is a small plastic part in the engine compartment which regulates the air flow. When it is broken engine rpm irregularly changes. But it can be fixed by a glue.

Mazda parts are a little expensive in Turkey.

Engine a little noisy especially on higher rpms. Also road noise easily comes in.

General Comments:

If you're looking for a reliable and "never let you down" this one is really good. I never had a problem that stops me on the road.

Also driving costs are really cheap, my car needs nearly 8 liters for a mixed drive (city jam/highway).

The cabin is surprisingly big. I'm a 1.94 tall -big- man, but I like the driving position. Also passengers at the back seat have enough space even if I put my set to the back.
