Faults:

Reprogramming of key.

CAT module failure.

Full body respray as the dealer did not pickup historical work on both doors, thus left the car multi shades of black.

Wiper arm dislodged and hit the bonnet, because the dealer did not fit the arm properly when replacing the corroded arm.

Front heated windscreen elements not working, so replaced windscreen. Also washer jet on front light dislodged. All of the above works were carried out under warranty within the 1st 4 weeks of having the car.

I bought it used at £52k. The maintenance works were a reflection of the lack of attention to detail that the dealer has, and should have covered most of the problems in the preparation of the car for sale, thus I had to use my brain and complain to a different dealer to take issue with their other branch. It worked, and the new dealer now maintains and services the car.

General Comments:

I am a simple bloke, the DB9 is a sexy car, but there are certain things that you expect the car to be; maybe not reliable, but at least fit decent mirrors in the sun visor, less rattle in the car i.e. cable bouncing in the steering rack, leaky seal around the windows. But saying that, I love driving the car at any excuse, from getting the milk to hitting the B roads.

Diesel like torque, sexy sound of the exhaust and engine, and when you enjoy that, the MPG does not matter; you will keep filling without feeling it. I moan when I fill the 330ci for work, but never the DB9.

Rear seats; forget it, they are for optics. Boot slams a little hard though.

I would advise the purchase of Aston Martin extended warranties; I claimed in excess of 5k within the 1st 4 weeks of having the car. Just placed another one on the car, and it goes for a leaky seal fix.

If you buy you will enjoy, but you need to be prepared to pay for servicing and general works; it's not cheap. Newer models 2008 onwards are much better.

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong so far, on-board satellite navigation didn't work when I received the car, but it was fixed quickly.

The only fault I seem to hear from my wife is that the passenger seat is a tiny bit cramped.

General Comments:

Very nice car, well worth the money I paid for it. Bought it second hand to avoid the very long queue. Find it a nice change from my normal road car which I drive-the Range Rover.

Its pretty quick, and I love the purr of the engine when it revs up high. Overtakes 'boy racers' in their Skylines fairly easily!

Very classy, and is a dream to look at as expected!

Faults:

Paddle shift gearbox is iffy - potentially great, but too much hesitation and lurch when changing gears. Changing from 1st into reverse is particularly annoying.

Leather and suede trim is poorly fitted, looks like an elephant's scrotum!

General Comments:

Cracking fun, but let down on a few niggly items. Undoubtedly gorgeous to look at.
