2009 Audi A4 Executive 2.0 TDi
Summary:
Overrated?
Faults:
Lots; oil leak, clutch, turbo, ABS, the list goes on! All expensive to repair as well even if you know an Audi independent garage.
In its final year with me it was scrapped - soo much rust, especially around all wheel arches. Failed MOT.
General Comments:
OK so I bought this Audi used back in 2018, but it was not that old then, had an approved used dealer history, and reasonable mileage at the time.
Over the years I had the car the repair bills mounted up. It was looked after well, driven correctly and serviced and washed on time. But it aged far too quickly in my opinion.
Shame really, it was a great car to drive, punchy engine and economical as expected for diesel.
Interior comfort was spot on, and build felt solid.
Just not that reliable and the biggest surprise was how quickly it rusted. Yes it was 14 years old when I was done with it, but I had older cars before without a spot of rust. These cars are also overpriced on the used market and I just do not think they are worth it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

The best cars against rust in that era were Mazdas. The Wild West with any other brand.

You gotta be kidding me. Mazda were one of the worst circa 2009 for rust protection. I had less rust on my 20 year old KIA than was on my only 8 year old Mazda at the time!

Rust protection from Audi at this time period was poor. I have seen similar aged Fords with less rust!
