2001 Audi TT 225 1.8 turbo petrol
Summary:
Do yourself a favour, buy something else
Faults:
Riddled with faults, which included:
Clutch pedal fell off while driving.
Oil sensor failed.
ABS sensor failed.
Bose head unit failed twice (number 3 faulty when sold).
Washer motor failed.
Indicators failed.
Instrument panel failed (1000 quid to fix).
Anti-roll bars had to be replaced.
Back springs both snapped; had to be replaced.
M.A.F failed.
All 4 coil packs replaced.
Windows rolled down on their own (never fixed).
Thermostat failed.
In the end it really was a case of 'OH S**T WHAT NEXT'.
I owned this car for 6 years and I did enjoy driving it. But I have to admit the day I traded it in, I celebrated.
General Comments:
Second to none interior build quality, iconic looks, excellent BOSE sound system (when it worked properly), and excellent road holding.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

If you had ever owned or driven both an M3 and TT, or if you could actually drive properly, you would never prefer a TT to an M3. Hmmm... let me think, driver dependent, perfectly balanced RWD sports saloon, or electrickery ridden 4WD poseur-mobile?? Which would appeal to any driving enthusiast more???
