1992 Citroen AX GT 1.4
Summary:
Pure adrenalin rush every time I get in the car
Faults:
The only problems I have had with the car has been faulty HT leads and dirty plugs which can expected for a 13 year old car.
The little Citroen can be a trouble to start in the morning when it's cold because it's fuelled by a carb not an injector.
General Comments:
I have recently bought this gem of a car for £400 and found it to be a very comfortable and economic drive, great handling and sporty looks makes this a real head turner, a real pocket rocket shoots up to 60 in 8.5 seconds which is amazing seeing it's only a 1.4.
Great on country roads through the twisties the only main concern is the brakes, they don't stop you! break well in advance other than that it's a lovely hot hatch to drive.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I've driven my AX on long runs fully loaded (and I mean FULLY loaded! Back seat down and front passenger seat and floor space filled too), and it's surprising how well it handles - no lurching corners or bouncing suspension, just requires one or two more gear changes for hills. After all that weight it still gives great mpg, hardly noticeably different to unloaded.
I'm currently having a hell of a job getting the correct speedo cable though, two I've tried have been too short and the alternate bulkhead hole they suggest using is already fully occupied with heating pipes. This is ongoing with the Citroen dealer, though I may end up getting one from a scrap yard if they can't come up with a solution.
