1997 Citroen AX 958cc petrol
Summary:
Excellent first time car
Faults:
Pin-sized hole in the coolant pipes.
General Comments:
Superb car - apart from a tiny hole in the coolant pipes. The Citroen Garage couldn't spot the problem, offering instead to replace the cylinder head gaskets, it took my dad's mate to spot the problem and fix it for £20.
Apart from that, this car has run amazingly, no breakdowns, no trouble, superb little city car (just last week I beat an Audi TT at every traffic light along Glasgow's Saughie Hall Street).
The main negative points are that you cannot get the acceleration up at higher speeds for safe overtaking on country lanes, and the seats are so uncomfortable you get a really bad back driving for more than a few hours at a time.
It also seems to have been broken into very easily - but being such an unimpressive vehicle, all that was stolen was a tin of beans in the driver side door pocket..
(I regularly return to the car to find a note on the dashboard asking me to go to the local plod station, as keys were left in door/ignition)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hi, I'm also a proud owner of this little vehicle :)
I`m very satisfied with it so far, and I have owned it for 2 and a half years.
I have a question regarding its cooling tank. I have just changed antifreeze by myself. There was like nearly 4 liters of liquid inside, but when I poured new coolant inside, it swallowed nearly 6 liters of liquid. Liquid does not leak anywhere and I wonder where did it go? If you could tell me what is the capacity of its cooling tank (altogether with pipes)?
Thanks in advance.
