Faults:

Rear brake pads rub when reversing, causing nasty noise similar to braking when creeping in an automatic, but harsher. Had to wait three months before dealer managed to source replacement calipers; I'm told it's to do with resonance.

Still waiting to have the brakes sorted though because on the day it was due in at the dealer, it refused to start! After a lot of noise, bad smell and warning lights, I took advantage of the years free RAC cover; mechanic turns up two hours later and in typical fashion it starts first time.

The cabin fan squeaks when the steering wheel is turned left even by the smallest amount.

The upper tailgate rattles and is starting to irritate me!

General Comments:

Good turn of speed, but not as much as I would have thought. It has 1.5 times the power of my previous Saxo, but due to extra weight it's not 1.5 times quicker ;)

Good grip from the 195 tyres, but again I must confess the Saxo held the line better even on narrower rubber.

Cheerful cabin, steering wheel has good grip and feel.

6500rpm rev limit (at least that is when the rev limiter cuts in; there's not red line on the dial)

General Comments:

I bought my C2 VTR in misty Lilac in October, and although at first it took some getting used to, I have to say now that it's a great little car, and you get loads for the money; ABS, cruise control etc.

I too have had problems with noisy brakes when in reverse, and I have just had a recall regarding moving the brake pipe. The brakes can be very quick to react, so you need to be careful. I also found that I needed to be less heavy on the accelerator when driving in auto mode, as the car kept on changing down a gear, which became annoying - saying that, I much prefer to drive the Sensodrive; it's great fun and very nippy. If I had one major complaint, it would be visibility, as I find there to be many blind spots due to chunky supports.

The style of the car is great, very funky and trendy. I also opted for the automatic air con, which includes automatic wipers and lights, plus the split movable back seats, which I recommend; it's very easy to move them and make ample boot space. I can fit my parents dog cage in the back, plus the parents, so plenty of room. With the seats in place, the boot is big enough for shopping, and it doesn't move around; nice and compact.

My favorite aspect so far though is the notability. I have never had a car before that has caused so much attention. I, still six months on, get people looking at my car and pointing, waving and stopping for a chat. The car is so stylish and trendy, it feels more like an accessory than a car, I love it to bits!

Faults:

The C2 VTR, has been back to the dealership on 3 occasions for noisy brakes. Have had a independent mechanic inform me it is due to the hand brake not releasing fully and I am due to take the car back for the 4th time next week.

General Comments:

The C2 VTR is my first Citroen owned, generally I am pleased with it.

The paint finish (I have the black) is rather poor.

The seats are comfortable.

Not much boot space, you would assume the VTR would come with modulated seats, which it has not.

Nippy and a firm ride.

Handles better when fitted with ESP.
