1996 Citroen ZX Aura 1.9 turbo D
Summary:
My car is roomy, fast and sporty, but it does have a couple of minor niggles
Faults:
The rear windows will no longer open, and they slip unless held in with clothes pegs wedged in.
Rear offside door will not lock using the central locking system.
Rattling under the front passenger foot-well. The garage could not find the cause.
General Comments:
I love my car, and it is surprisingly roomy. We sold our (newer!) estate because the ZX's size was adequate for our family of four's needs.
The seats are very comfortable, and the sunroof is fantastic.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have the very same problem with my rear windows! I only found out they were faulty when I was sitting in the back one day, and wound them down - they wouldn't go back up! (or stay up!)
So one has now had it's mechanism taped up inside, and the other is being held up with an ice scraper!
Ahhh, French build quality ;)
I also have one door that doesn't work with the others, but mine is the front passenger, so it can be a bit of a pain!
I don't have the rattle that you describe at the front, but I do have a rattle from the back, I understand it is the suspension bushes, and a quite common thing apparently.
Very happy with performance, and getting 43mpg pretty much however I drive it, so that's OK.
