1995 Fiat Cinquecento Sporting 1.1 petrol
Summary:
First car and worst car!
Faults:
Just about everything! Electrics - faults intermittent. Mechanical - warped brakes, exhaust, driveshaft whine. So it goes on.
Interior worn very early on.
Cosmetically on the exterior it was also looking bad, and the car was only 5 years old when I sold it with 62K on it, but looked more like a 15 year old car with 200K on it!
General Comments:
I know it was a cheap Fiat and my first car, but honestly this car had no build quality whatsoever, for the 1990's it was bad by standards even then.
Dull to drive apart from the handling - it turned very sharply, but then it should as it was very small and light weight.
1.1 had no power for a sporty model, but it was at-least economical, insurance was also reasonable which was important to me at the time.
Ride was harsh and there was virtually no comfort.
Nice in bright yellow!
Felt unsafe. Joke of a car to be honest, was glad to be rid of it! Should have went for a Punto or something bigger, but have heard they were bad also. Thanks Fiat for the deathtrap experience!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I've just bought one of these for £650 and the insurance is the same as my old 1.1 litre Peugeot 106. The 106 was nice enough to drive, but the little Fiat has really surprised me. It's a proper drivers car with great handling and a responsive, nice sounding engine.
Can't believe a car this much fun cost me so little :)
